My 5 year old daughter keeps putting pencils in the dogs hole....what do I do?

So I am sitting on the couch and the dog walks by with a pencil sticking out of his hole....I took it out and found out my 5 year old is puttin pencils and pens in the dogs hole....I have hidden all pens and pencils but the dog keeps ending up with a pencil or pen in his hole, the other day it was a crochet needle....whad do i do?
