Ollie Help!?

When I olie i cant get some pretty big air but i dont slide my foot and i just use the pop to get in the air and i land it my friends say it looks exacly like a regular ollie im pretty sure i dont slide unless its sub-consious or some thing like that but will that effect me when im trying to learn harder tricks or if i try to jump off stuff plz help.
