How hard is it to get a job at Goldman Sachs, Merryl Lynch, AIG etc. etc.?

It will be very hard to find jobs at the three companies you mention, since they are all winding down operations. Similar companies may be hiring in a few years, but the odds are that the compensation structures will change. Master in Finance or Economics would be the way to go, btw.
