Why is 'Laus Deo' written at the top of the Washington Monument?

Because we were founded as a Christian Nation no matter how hard the liberals would argue that we weren't. In God We Trust is on our money. The liberals use the old separation of church and state argument but that was to prevent the State from establishing a State sponsored church, so we could have religious freedom, not meant to stop religion.
